Dental Emergencies in Key West

Many dental emergencies are obvious, like a knocked-out tooth or an injury that causes excessive bleeding. However, even issues that seem more minor can still be considered dental emergencies, such as a persistent toothache or periodontal disease. If you’re experiencing oral pain that you can’t treat on your own, this is a dental emergency and you should call Southernmost Smiles right away for dental treatment. We offer same-day appointments and immediate care for patients in pain!

Keep Your Smile Safe

What To Do In A Dental Emergency

  • Contact Dr. Weber for an emergency appointment right away! Proper emergency care is critical for saving your tooth.
  • Next, recover your missing tooth or dental work (if applicable). Your tooth should be rinsed gently with warm water and replaced in the socket, or placed in a bag of cold milk.
  • Address any bleeding, if present. You can use a clean cotton ball or gauze to absorb blood, which should mostly stop within an hour.
  • You can take naproxen (Aleve) or acetaminophen (Tylenol) to help control your pain and discomfort, and apply an ice pack externally to reduce swelling.
  • After you’ve taken the proper steps to treat bleeding and pain, make sure you come to Southernmost Smiles as soon as you can for professional treatment.
